Sollie has attended many courses and received extensive training in Hypnotherapy (Medical and Egostate), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT®), Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT®), Disarming Disruptive Anger, Neuro-Psychology and many more other protocols within BWRT®. He is also trained as a Neurophysical Enhancement Training (FET®) therapist in BWRT® in order to enhance fitness of people/athletes, but also those that do not enjoy exercising. These enable him to assist clients with a variety of different challenges e.g. anger, anxiety, fears, depression, panic attacks, academic/learning difficulties, bullying, Worrier-Settlers-Nomad (WSN), major life reset, procrastination buster, bereavement, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, relationship difficulties, parental coaching, mediating & planning, suicide and self-harm tendencies. These therapies work effectively with clients of all ages.
Sollie assesses school going children to help identify learning and behavioural difficulties and makes recommendation to assist them in overcoming their challenges.
Subject choice assessments in Grade 9 assist clients to make more informed choices and ultimately guide them towards the most suitable career path through a career assessment in Grade 12.
He assists learners to apply for exam concessions, such as extra time and spelling, to enable them to perform optimally in exams without undue penalties.
Sollie has a specific interest in Neuro-Psychology and the working of the brain.
Psychology is a diverse profession and as a psychologist he focuses on facilitating his client’s personal and interpersonal functioning. He helps them to identify and better understand their afflicting emotional, social, vocational, educational and developmental concerns. Sollie applies years of experience, knowledge and intellect to help people from all walks of life improve their well-being.
Integrative approach – Sollie works within a wide range of theoretical frameworks such as Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Medical Hypnotherapy, Egostate Therapy, Existential Therapy and Brain Working Recursive Therapy to select a therapeutic approach best suited to the needs of his clients.
At the start of therapy he allows the individual time to become comfortable, and at ease in order to discuss their circumstances and the difficulties they are experiencing. A trusting and collaborative relationship between a psychologist and his client is of the utmost importance and key to problem solving.
